Official Transcript: May either be mailed to our office directly from the registrar, or sent in a sealed envelope bearing your university seal/stamp along with your application materials. Students applying should submit a transcript with fall grades included. Transcripts may arrive separately from the rest of the application, but the application will remain incomplete until all items are received in our office.

Letters of Recommendation: You are required to submit two letters of recommendation written by college administrators, professors, past internship supervisors, and other individuals who can comment on your academic ability, leadership skills, and personal character. Letters may arrive separately from the rest of the application, but the application will remain incomplete until all items are received in our office. It is recommended that you give your recommenders at least three weeks notice in order to allow ample time.

Writing Samples: Your writing samples should demonstrate your ability to research a topic and write a paper conveying your findings. We encourage you to submit papers you have written in college-level courses that bear the grade and your professor's comments. Students who do not have papers with a grade and/or professor’s comments should submit copies of papers that were submitted for college courses.   Please send copies as you will not have the original returned to you.

Essay: Your essay should discuss America's greatest accomplishment and greatest failure since its founding. It should be no more than three pages, double-spaced. We do not expect these essays to be research papers - only expressions of your opinions.
