| Scholar Profiles | |
In addition to our students being exceptional in the academic sense, they are also dedicated public servants. While the mean GPA for Institute Scholars is 3.6, each of these young men is also a student leader. Among the ranks of current scholars and alumni are a Teen Jeopardy champion, an Eagle Scout, an opera singer, a pianist, two Coro Fellows, two Center for the Study of the Presidency Fellows, and a university system student regent. The young men hail from nearly every region of the country, including the Deep South, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and the Northeast. They come from Ivy League schools, historically black colleges, large public universities, and small liberal arts colleges. Many of our scholars and alumni have been non-profit founders, student government association presidents and senators, and student organization presidents. As these young men progress beyond college and into their respective careers, their impact on society will be more widely felt. As this network of high-achievers expands, they are able to provide greater support for each other in the common pursuit of improving the general welfare.
