Rakim Brooks graduated from Brown University where he earned a degree in Africana Studies. At Brown, he served as co-chair of the Africana Studies Departmental Undergraduate Group and worked as a research assistant for one of his university's professors.
In 2008, he became the first Institute scholar to be named a Rhodes Scholar. At Oxford, he will earn a master's degree in Comparative Social Policy. After earning a doctorate, he hopes to become a college professor.
While participating in the Institute, Rakim interned at the Brookings Institution in 2007 and the Center for Law and Social Policy in 2008. |
