Hometown: Baltimore, MD
Joseph Githuku is a native of Kenya, where he was fortunate to have studied at a rigorous Catholic boarding school and one of the country’s most prestigious high schools. Having moved to the United States during his high school years, Joseph expresses sincere appreciation for the freedoms and opportunities that Americans enjoy and a strong determination to use the American political system to benefit the lives of others. He studied Political Science at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. In 2010, Joe received his JD from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore.
During his first summer as an Institute scholar, Joseph interned at the U.S. Department of Labor. In 2005, he interned with the House Committee on Governmental Reform.
