Kendrick Henley was the only freshman to earn a position on Hampton University’s Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Varsity Team in 2003.  On campus, he was the recipient of the Achievement and Goizueta Scholarships, as well as a member of the Hampton University Honors College.  Kendrick served his campus and the community through the Student Leadership Program, as chief of staff of the Student Government Association, and as Mr. NAACP.  He was awarded the Ford Predoctoral Diversity Fellowship and given the W.E.B. Du Bois Award for Social Justice and Peace in 2006.

With the Institute, Kendrick interned at the National Museum of American History.

Kendrick is now attending the University of Chicago in pursuit of his Ph.D. in Sociology.  He one day hopes to become a university professor.
