Hometown: Mitchellville, MD

Bernard A. Holloway received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina.  His commitment to service was demonstrated through his roles as student body secretary, chair of Carolina After Dark, member of the Freedom’s Live!, and staff writer for The Daily Tar Heel.  Fluent in Spanish, Bernard was an ESL tutor for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Public School system.  A national Teen Jeopardy champion (2002),
Bernard desires to pursue his interests in law, education, and public service. 

Bernard interned at the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise during his first summer at the Institute.  The following summer, he interned at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc.

Bernard is currently participating in the Coro Fellows Program—a nine-month, full-time, graduate level leadership program designed to introduce young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena.
