Hometown: Mitchellville, MD

Bernard A. Holloway received his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina. His commitment to service was demonstrated through his roles as student body secretary, chair of Carolina After Dark, member of the Freedom's Live!, and staff writer for The Daily Tar Heel. Fluent in Spanish, Bernard was an ESL tutor for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Public School system. A national Teen Jeopardy champion (2002), Bernard desires to pursue his interests in law, education, and public service. After graduating from UNC, Bernard participated in the Coro Fellows Program. He has since served as an independent consultant for various non-profit organizations in New York and Washington, DC.

Bernard interned at the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise during his first summer at the Institute. In 2006, he interned at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc. Bernard returned the following summer at the Institute to serve as a summer fellow
