Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Ernie Jolly majored in American Studies at Cornell University.  As campus liaison for Black Students United, Ernie coordinated monthly town hall meetings to address issues concerning African Americans on campus and the surrounding community.  He served as treasurer for the Minority Undergraduate Law Society and was president of the Black Student Union.  Ernie also served as residential advisor to the largest dorm on campus.  He currently teaches at an alternative school in Philadelphia for Teach for America.

Ernie interned at the US Department of Labor during his first summer at the Institute. In his second summer, he interned for his congressman, the Honorable Ed Towns (D-NY).
