Hometown: Newtown, CT

Michael Mitchell majors in Economics and Political Science in the University of Connecticut Honors Program, where he is a Four Year Academic Excellence Scholarship awardee.  In high school, Michael lettered in three sports and qualified for the Connecticut State Championship while in track and field, earning the National Youth Leadership Conference Scholarship upon admission to UConn.  He is a member of the Multi-Cultural Business Club on campus and seeks a career in economics or finance after his studies are over.  In his spare time, Michael enjoys writing and has published several poems.
