Hometown: Lawrenceville, GA

DeMarcus Pegues, a William E. Brock, Jr. and Provost Scholar, majored in Psychology at the University of Tennessee—Chattanooga.  While maintaining his 4.0 GPA in the university’s honors program, DeMarcus assisted an instructor with a doctoral dissertation on cancer and its effects on cognitive ability.  He was also involved with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, serving as vice president of the Planning for College Success program on his home campus. Demarcus is currently a graduate student at Columbia University. He intends to work as an industrial/organizational psychologist in the future.

In 2007, DeMarcus interned at the US Department of Labor.  In 2008, he interned for Discovery Communications. The following summer, Demarcus returned to the Institute to serve as a summer fellow.
