Hometown: Stevens Point, WI Bryon Shannon was a Management and Real Estate and Urban Land Economics double-major in the Honors Program of the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin. On campus, Bryon founded the Multiple Sclerosis Committee, a student organization that increases campus awareness and raises funds for multiple sclerosis. He also served as co-president of the Multicultural Business Students Association and was a member of the Undergraduate Leadership Council. In the past, Bryon assisted in the repair of substandard homes in Tennessee through an Appalachian service project and has taught students in North Carolina through Teach for America. Byron is currently working to further develop Wisconsin Relic, a clothing apparrel line he founded that promotes Midwest culture and slogans. In the future, Bryon would like to find work that empowers communities through the mass media. He interned at TV One during his first summer as an Institute scholar. In his final summer, he interned at Discovery Communications. |
