Hometown: Triangle, VA

Steven Ward was aPresidential Scholar while at Virginia State University.  He also served as president of the Honors Program Student Advisory Council and participated in various honors conferences and academic competitions around the country.   In 2007, Steven volunteered as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. and sat on the Tri-Cities Advisory Council.
 
During his first summer at the Institute, Steven interned at the U.S. Department of Education. In 2004, he interned at the American Association for Higher Education.

After graduating, Steven returned to his alma mater and worked as a development officer.  He hopes to become a college president in the future.
