Hometown: Triangle, VA

Steven Ward was a Presidential Scholar while at Virginia State University.  He also served as president of the Honors Program Student Advisory Council and participated in various honors conferences and academic competitions around the country.   In 2007, Steven volunteered as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc. and sat on the Tri-Cities Advisory Council.

After graduating, Steven returned to his alma mater and worked as a development officer.  He now teaches Biology at his former high school.

During his first summer at the Institute, Steven interned at the U.S. Department of Education. In 2004, he interned at the American Association for Higher Education.
