Hometown: Millsboro, DE

David Wilford, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, majored in Social Work at La Salle University.  He is a youth minister at his local church and plans to be a pastor and social worker in the future.  David received 1st runner-up for the National Association of Social Work BPD Fellowship program and is a member of Phi Alpha, a national social work honor society. He currently works for Delaware Hospice as a social worker and is pursuing a graduate degree in counseling.

In addition to his passion for serving others, David enjoys music. He is the former director of La Salle’s gospel choir and in 2010, he appeared as a contestant and finalist on BET's reality television show Sunday's Best.

In David's first summer with the Institute, he interned at the United States Department of Labor in the Office for Faith-based and Community Initiatives. During the summer of 2007, he interned at the NHP Foundation.
