John York majors in Textile Technology at North Carolina State University.  On campus, John helps promote his chosen major to prospective students as a Textile Ambassador.  In addition, he provides mentorship to first year students as a university ambassador.  He is a member of the Textile Entrepreneurs Club and Tompkins Textile Student Council.  Last summer, John served as a counselor for the African American Symposium.  He hopes to become an entrepreneur and serve his community as an ordained minister.
