I4RC ScholarsFar too many African American boys are discouraged from dreaming the American dream and a declining number are graduating from top colleges and universities each year.   As a result, companies, law firms, non-profit organizations, and other institutions are facing a serious shortage of talented black men who are poised to assume positions of leadership in their institutions.  The Institute addresses this matter by encouraging the best and brightest to work hard to achieve extraordinary success.  Our scholars will serve as mentors and role models for other students.

We take nothing for granted in preparing our students.  In addition to rigorous academics, challenging internships, and interactions with prominent individuals, the Institute enhances nonacademic skills that are important to professional advancement.  These activities include intensive workshops in writing, public speaking, and business and social etiquette.  In response to comments by some of our supporters in the corporate and legal communities, we even provide golf and tennis lessons.  Most importantly, our scholars and alumni benefit from intensive mentoring by the Institute’s founder, professors and fellow alumni.

Beyond preparing our scholars for success, the Institute’s work impacts society broadly.  Through their personal and professional efforts, they will have a positive impact on their communities, their country, and the world.
